Mystery Rosy Sludge on Secluded Tasmanian Shoreline Raises Concerns of Possible Algal Bloom
Agencies in Tasmania are working to identify a pink slime that has materialized on a isolated coast, with a number of researchers concerned it could be an phytoplankton proliferation.

The rosy-colored ooze materialized across a stretch of a coastal area about 60 kilometers south of the capital. A similar sludge has also been documented on areas of another local beach and a separate bay.
