I'll dominate 'serious boxer' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight round fight which will be shown in real-time on the streaming platform.

Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the combatants came face-to-face to promote the upcoming bout.

Ex twice unified title holder Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami's venue on December 19th.

Fighter's Mindset

"I plan to break his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, declared.

"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I'm going to seriously aim to injure him. That's my goal."

Respectful Exchange

Despite such comments, a composed Anthony Joshua and social media star Jake Paul - usually known for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul instead targeted former Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "a joke" after Ngannou rejected a match opportunity.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at UK opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he's present here," the boxer said.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Fighter

Despite saying he intends to punish Paul, Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he said.

Paul's Background

Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since becoming pro.

He lost to British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.

Commercial Success

Nevertheless, the novice continues to be one of boxing's largest financial successes, regularly earning huge paydays.

Prediction and Belief

The 28 year old anticipated a knockout win in rounds four or five and asserted he would stop the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly in the works for two years from now.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul stated.

Size Difference

As both boxers met for the usual confrontation, with their height and weight contrast evident, it drove home just how improbable this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is actually proceeding.
